5th Annual International Photoshare Photo Contest: Join Photoshare in communicating health and development through photography. Grand prize is $1,000.

Short-term Consultancy Opening: The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Global Initiative for Breast Cancer Awareness is seeking a Trainer of Trainers Consultant. The program is managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE) West Coast Center and implemented in collaboration with local partners in ten countries. Application deadline:  October 1, 2007.

Framework Program in Global Health: The Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health is now accepting applications for Framework Program in Global Health fellowships, which are short-term research experiences to address global health issues. The program includes $3,000 for undergraduate students or $5,000 for graduate students to support travel and field research for up to three months. All JHU undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply. Deadlines: November 15 and April 1.

Grants Program for U.S. Scholars -  American Institute for Maghrib Studies (AIMS) (from COS): The program offers grants to U.S. scholars in all disciplines who are interested in conducting research on North Africa in any Maghrib country, specifically Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, or Mauritania. Deadline: December 31, 2007.

Faculty Grants in Global Health Research: The Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health has announced it will provide pilot grants to faculty in the Schools of Public Health, Medicine, and Nursing to enable and support global health research projects. The prime purpose of these awards is to strengthen the individual's ability to secure extramural funding. The grants are for Instructors, Assistant Professors, and Associate Professors in the Schools of Public Health, Medicine, and Nursing. Application Receipt Date: Second Monday in November.

DOD HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care, and Treatment Program: The Department of the Navy is soliciting proposals for the prevention, care, and treatment of HIV/AIDS in foreign militaries. Deadline: November 30, 2007. More information: http://fundingopps.cos.com/alerts/110599
