SciVal Experts Research Profile

Research and Professional Experience

My research interests include: 1. The design and evaluation of nutrition interventions to improve maternal and child health and survival, and infant and child growth. These interventions include micronutrient supplementation, food fortification and behavior-change strategies. 2. Food and nutrition policy- and decision-making 3. Using intervention performance data to enhance implementation of nutrition interventions. To date, my research has encompassed the design and conduct of xerophthalmia and food frequency surveys, the evaluation of an infant feeding education program, rapid nutritional assessments of high-risk communities, qualitative assessments of feeding behaviors and beliefs, and the design and conduct of a wheat-flour fortification trial. Countries previously worked or currently working in include the Philippines, Nepal, Zambia, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Uganda, India and Pakistan.
