Research and Professional Experience
Research Interest:
Dr. Greenough’s research interest focuses on diarrhea and oral rehydration therapy, malnutrition, and wound care in the elderly. He is currently piloting a study to evaluate the effect of recombinant human lactoferrin on the rate of infection with C. difficile in long-term care patients supported by enteral feeding requiring broad spectrum antibiotics. Dr. Greenough is also involved in the planning stages of a research trial for a new toxoid vaccine to prevent C. difficile disease, as well as a 3rd project which is a retrospective analysis of surveillance data for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus on the Ventilator Rehab Unit of the Johns Hopkins Care Center.
