Research and Professional Experience

Hae-Ra Han, RN, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Dr. Han is a Core Faculty Member of the Center for Collaborative Intervention Research and the Center for Health Disparities. She received her bachelor’s and master's degrees from Seoul National University and obtained her doctorate from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Dr. Han received the 2001 D. Jean Wood Nursing Research Award from Southern Nursing Research Society, a mentor award from the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations in 2005, and a community service award and recognition for outstanding community service from the League of Korean Americans-Maryland and Maryland Senator Mikulski, respectively, in 2006. She has been funded by AHRQ, NCI, and NINR for her studies on cancer control, cardiovascular risk reduction, and chronic disease management in underserved ethnic minority populations. Dr. Han teaches research methods, grant writing, and global health issues in the master’s and doctoral programs at the School.
