Research and Professional Experience

Dr. Marie Nolan's program of research is in patient and family decision making in critcal illness. She has served as principal investigator of NIH funded studies examining decision making in patients and families at the end of life. She has also studied the decision making of living organ donors and the role of the family in this decision.

Dr. Nolan has served on NIH expert panels examining the ethics of research focused on care at the end of life. She has also published on the topic of research ethics.
