William Moss Zambia School of Arts and Sciences, Bachelor's program Immune reconstitution and measles-specific immune responses will be studied in HIV-infected Zambian children undergoing antiretroviral therapy. Changes in CD4+ cell counts will be used as the primary indicator of immune reconstitution. Results from this study will elucidate how the increased use of antiretroviral therapy will affect population immunity to vaccine-preventable infectious diseases.
