The objective of the Framework Program in Global Health is to enhance the recruitment of students into global health research and practice careers by providing them the means to work with faculty mentors and to travel overseas to gain valuable experience. All students who wish to be considered for the award must team with a faculty mentor, formulate a global health-related project, and submit a detailed proposal of the project on one of the two award deadlines each school year. Awards of $3,000 to undergraduate students and $5,000 to graduate students are awarded to the proposals judged by faculty members to be realistic, challenging, and educational. The Framework Program in Global Health allows students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an overseas setting, where they can work under a faculty mentor and develop skills to carry with them into their careers. The Program supports a variety of global health-related projects with the aim of training future professionals to effectively respond to all of the world's health challenges. Framework Awards are open to graduate and undergraduate students of Johns Hopkins University. Faculty members, previous Framework recipients and postdoctoral fellows can not apply to the Framework Award. >> Learn how to apply for a Framework Global Health Award Read about the experiences of our previous Framework Award winners -- view their pictures, read their project abstracts, and enjoy their personal reflections of their time overseas.
