About Tido von Schoen-Angerer
Tido von Schoen-Angerer, M.D. is the Director of the Campaign for Access to Essential Medicines of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) based in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr. von Schoen-Angerer was born in Germany and studied medicine in Mainz, Germany and at Uppsala University, Sweden. He was a pediatric resident at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York and holds diplomas in health care in low-income countries and health systems management from Uppsala University and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine respectively. He joined MSF for the first time in Armenia in 1995. Since that time, Dr. von Schoen-Angerer worked for MSF in Zimbabwe, and Thailand, and led projects in Nigeria, Chad, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. His years of field work helped drive his interest is in the problems of access to medicines and lack of innovation for diseases that primarily affect people in poor countries.
